Rule utilitarianism vs act utilitarianism

Wearing nose masks, social distancing, and quarantine were all implemented to safeguard society’s health. The COVID protocols implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic were likewise purely utilitarian. As a result, drinking while driving is not utilitarian.

If a drunk driver hits another pedestrian, they risk losing their lives. While drinking might be enjoyable, drinking while driving can be harmful. The ‘Don’t drink and drive’ rule is intended to benefit the largest number of individuals. There seem to be utilitarian laws in every civilization. Society flourishes (greatest good): Because it emphasises the greatest good for the largest number of people, utilitarianism will always benefit society as a whole.
